POSITIONPAPER

Position Papers

A position paper is a summary of the delegate's accumulated research on the committee, topic, and their country. Position papers are expected to be turned in prior to the opening ceremony of the conference to the Chair of the delegate's respective committees in order to be considered for an award during the conference. The emails of the Chairs are within their committee pages and also included below.

Guidelines

All position papers are expected to be one page (not including citations), single-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman with appropriate headings on the top of the page including the delegate's name, committee, school, and country/position. Citations through endnotes/footnotes are also required. Questions regarding the position paper can be directed to the general inquiry email (nmhmun@outlook.com) or the Chairs of each committee.

The position paper should cover three general areas of research: an examination of the topic to be discussed, your country/position's stance on the issue & past actions taken, and potential solutions.

The topic overview should demonstrate a clear understanding of the problem at hand and its relevance to today's society. Your stance should be well-backed by cited research and in line with the current politics of the nation, with past actions contributing to present-day attitudes. Lastly, potential solutions invite delegates to think critically about the problem and develop creative & innovative solutions that align with their country's position.
